The flood watch is now in effect for
* all of central and northern vermont as well as portions of northern new york, including the saint lawrence river valley.
* through thursday morning.
* rapid snow melt and river ice breakup will continue the threat for localized ice jam related flooding overnight.
* areas where ice jams remain in place from the mid-january thaw will be the most susceptible to flooding. Some of these rivers include but are not limited to the following: the little salmon, st regis, saranac, great chazy, ausable, lamoille, missisquoi, winooski, and passumpsic.
